when i record a show in media center where can i find it in my computer besides inside media center, thanks

Should be in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Recorded TV

Or if this is Vista, it will be in c:\users\public\recorded TV

You can also view/change the default location in the Media Center app:

Settings->TV->Recorded TV->TV Storage->Storage Location

i don't see the option for recorded TV. i only see recorder, guide, setup tv signal, configure TV or monitor, audio and closed captioning.

thanks for helping me finding the recorder location though
also is there anyway to convert the Microsoft Recorded TV format to other formats such as avi or mpg

You can change the disk through the UI, but I don't know of a way to change to a different location on the same disk.

Changing disks is (in Vista) under settings, TV, recorder, recorder storage, record on drive.
