Media center edition :Extreme screen distortion upon exit

I have Media Center Edition 2005. It came with my computer. it isnt hooked up to a tv or anything, just a 19 inch flat panel display. when ever i exit the actual media center, the screen becomes horribly distorted. the computer remains totaly responsive, im always able to restart my computer using the keyboard. i have also found that the distortion occurs when i minimize media center but it seems to go away when i maximize media center again. Any suggestions?

Gotta be a video driver issue. Make sure and use the MCE version for your hardware. Most vendors issue a version of their driver specifically for MCE.

I have the latest forceware. i cant seem to find an update on the dell website (pleese dont flame me if your against pre-made computers. i have had nothing but good experiences with dell so im happy). when i try to download MCE updates from microsoft it tells me the updates dont apply to my OS. This dosnt make sence since i know i hve MCE 2005. My graphics card which i do plan on upgrading soon is a Ge-Force 7300 LE Turbocache if you know of any MCE problems with that card.

I've got MCE 2005 running on my pc w/ a 7900gt. I've never had that problem, but it does sound like video drivers. I would go to nvidia's site and check to see if you have the latest video drivers.
 
EDIT: I just rolled the forceware driver back to 82.68 and it solved the problem. that is a pretty old driver though. this is my first Nvidia card. do they release a new forceware driver every month like ATI?

FWIW the MCE drivers seem the most sensitive. In my case I had to roll back to the driver that came on the mobo disk for all options to work in MCE.
