Any idea why some isos work in media browser and others dont? I use imgburn to create iso's and throw them out on my htpc, however, nearly all of them don't work correctly and require me to use winimage to unpack them and put them back as dvd files. Obviously the format is correct because winimage can read it and unpack it correctly, but for some reason, the iso mounting program I'm using DT lite and it works with some of the isos, mainly ones i've downloaded, but not many of the ones I've created.

Any idea why this isnt working?

Have you tried virtual clone drive? Daemon Tools has really been lacking lately, mainly because I think they are so focused on trying to have a reason for the pay version that the lite had simply been stripped.

With all the BS going on with daemon tools now I switched to slysoft's virtual clone drive too. None of that trying to install other software or tool bar BS. I don't have many ISOs but all of them read fine with it.

Just to add a bit here, I've used IMGBURN now for years create ISO's. On my media tank (HDX-1000), lately many of the ISO's I've created fail to play at all. Some work, others do not. Generally if it's a downloaded movie that was in DVD format (VIDEO_TS) and I use IMGBURN to convert to ISO, if there are any issues with the IFO files or the movie has been stripped in any way, again I have issues.

On the other hand, using DVDshrink to rip to ISO has caused NO ISSUES whatsoever. Again this would be from movies that I own and rip to my WHS and then stream to my media player.

If you use Imgburn, there is a proper way to create ISO's, other that just the simple build and go format. On their site under support there are step by step instructions for dual layer or single layer which are more complex than just letting it do it on its own. You can try that.
