Medal of honor wont run?

Ok here we go...I installed mohaa,spearhead,battlefront...all the latest patches....I am running the latest 71.89 vi drivers.... when I click any of the game icons...lil box opens like it is going to go into game and...bam right back to desktop.

current rig:

a8n-sli
3500 winchester @ 2.6Ghz
1 gig of DDR550 G.Skill
256meg 6800GT Leadtek
3 X Raptors
2 X 16X DVD Burners
500W PSU 30A on +12v

I just installed MOH:AA on my system again after years of being unplayed 🙂 Works great with the 71.89's. If you have AA or AF on, try turning them off. Did you make certain you set res, deatil and evrything in game the way you like too?

Did you by chance use a no-cd crack? If you did make sure the crack version matches the patched version of the game.

could be possible ....doesnt look like a driver problem

I just tried loading the Omaha beach mission and it works perfectly.

Any overclocks? Have you patched the game to the latest version?

try the 76.45 drivers, available in the driver sticky in the video forum. i had the same problem with halo on 71.89, excpet about 5 minutes into playing, the game would freeze and i would get a blue screen and the pc would restart.

It's most likely a profile problem. The game won't work without a custom nVidia profile being present. It requires custom values for "Conformant texture clamp" & "Driver extension limit".

Download nHancer then backup your current nvapps.xml (where profiles live) with it.
After that look for the Medal of honor profile in nHancer and delete it.

Copy and paste the quote below into a text document, save it, rename the file "mohaa.xml"

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<FILE xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">

<APPLICATION Label="mohaa.exe" />

<PROPERTY Label="ogl_extension" Value="4520" Itemtype="predefined" />

</PROFILESET>
</FILE>

Use nHancer's import function to import this profile.

Restart your computer (required because MOH:AA is incredibly brain-dead about changes to the rendering sub-system and won't recognise them without a reboot).

If that works okay and you have a fast system with a GF6 6800GT try the profile I use below - it uses 16x AA & 16x AF (follow the above procedure).

You didnt mention if this is a new setup or not. From the sounds of it, it is an exsisting system that has a problem with this 1 title only, correct?

Just trying to narrow down the possibilities... do you have any other games up and running correctly on the system?

One more thing you can try.

Most new nVidia driver releases contain OpenGL V2.0 (not sure on 71.89 since I have never installed it).

Download the latest version of RivaTuner and use it to set the OpenGL version string the driver reports to applications.

OpenGL Version Override

Personally, I use the Extreme-G 76.45a HD drivers from tweaksrus.com and these automatically set the string to 1.5.

tried that to no avail here is what happens when it tries to run:

At this point, I'd have to say it must be an installation or version issue with the game itself.

I have no experience with the bundled version you mentioned, I bought MOH:AA, Spearhead and Breakthrough seperately.

You could however try no-cd patches to see if that helps resolve the problem (because you actually own the games I don't see an issue with their usage).

The only other thing that comes to mind is DEP, If enabled you may want to create exceptions for the MOH:AA games and see if that fixes anything.
DEP example (I don't use it myself).

The game won't work without a custom nVidia profile being present. It requires custom values for "Conformant texture clamp" & "Driver extension limit".
nVidia already includes such a profile with their drivers.

I know that BFG10K - I said as much in my first line.
The game won't work without a custom nVidia profile being present.

However the profile could have been modified or removed (certainly possible to remove built-in profiles with nHancer), and manually setting the required values doesn't work.

One more thing I can think of to try - check your anti-virus settings and exclude the game from being scanned for threats if possible. Norton can be a pain at times.
