Medal of Honor : Multiplayer

Anyone playing? I find that the maps are smaller and more intimate, which is something I like in a game. This seems to be one of those games where you don't have to be supreme at the game to reign supreme in a round.

It got bad reviews, obviously, but I'm finding it pretty fun.

Anyone want to go into a few rounds w/ me?

I have it, but havent played it yet. It seems like it would be the perfect middle ground for those that dont like that small circular COD style maps, and those who like BC2 infantry only (eg me!). I'm playing black ops right now and will wait till I level up a bit before moving onto MOH.

So after an hour of laggy Black Ops gameplay, I checked out MOH. Unfortunately at 8PM PST there were very few players...maybe a thousand (which is probably generous). Its funny but I did the play now option a couple of times and I was the only one in the game. I had no problem finding a game via server browser.

I will say the feel of the weapons felt much better than BO. Maybe its just a BF vs COD preference.

Not only the feel of the weapons, but the sound is also way superior to BO.

The multiplayer for MoH is garbage. Now that they fixed the sv_rate in black ops it's not laggy anymore.

Yeah the unlock tree was minimal, but it also meant as a newbie I could come right in and kick some ass. Standard M4 and Op For sub machine gun are sweet. After 90 min I reached level 5, while everyone else was like 11+. I played BO on release day and was going up against guys who where generals with pretty much everything unlocked. MOH is a throwback game where the playing field is fairly level, which is refreshing.

But since I already have everything unlocked in BC2, I might as well play that as there are more people playing it.

I played COD: Black OPs for two days and just gave it away to my friend... i thought it would be better than MOH... but for some reason I found the MP for MOH more fun...

massive amount of aimbot hackers on MoH MP.. ruined it for me.

Really? I've been playing it for a few days and I haven't really seen anyone with obvious hacks. A quick google search shows that they are indeed probably out there, but like I said, I haven't run into anything seemingly obvious as of yet.

Is it more like arcade play as the first MoH:AA was or just simpler controls and gameplay?

already have it, don't like it.

Could you elaborate a bit more on what you feel the differences are between the two multiplayer games? I don't mind playing BC2 online, I don't completely suck but I can't put the time in to achieve greatness either. I loved playing the original MoH:AA because the mechanics were simpler. So I'm just wondering how MoH and BC2 compare.

Its like MW simplified, using BF graphics, gun feel, sounds, etc. Much more tactical than MW/BO, but not as epic as BF series. Maps are like BC2, just smaller, but still bigger than MW maps, so there is some elbow room. I dont really remember what the original MOH MP was like, but this MOH is not really arcade like. I can play an hour or two at a time and feel satisfied, not pissed because a tank or helo crapped on me for 2 hours, or some BO jackass who unlocked everything 3 hours after launch is using stuff on me that I wont get for a week. In MOH I can run around, jack some people up, get jacked up, and move on. Its strange not being fueled by rage when playing a FPS. :p

To be honest, I'm surprised the player base isnt bigger. Maybe when the BO luster wears off a bit people will come back to it.
