Mechwarrior 3 won't run

My comp (Titan3 in my rigs) has never run the game Mechwarrior3 in windowsXP pro. It doesn't even get started, it give me a crash dialog window. I had a 98 partition and things ran fine, but 98 only runs once CPU, and I hate rebooting. I have a dual P3 system (Titan2) which runs the game fine in XP. And my friend runs his single CPU Palomino system fine with this game, same OS. All my drivers and BIOS are current, and game compatibility mode never works. Any ideas?

You need to either patch MW3 or revert to Win98, I think. Let me see if I have the patch and if I can cram it onto my Tripod page for download, because it was a little hard to scrounge up. Back in a bit.

Ok, go to http://mechbgon.tripod.com and the Cheetah avatar with the blue frame is linked to the patch you need. If you like playing MW3 then I strongly suggest burning that patch to CD for the future... Hasbro doesn't seem to have it on their site anymore. Enjoy your MW3'ing and don't forget to make use of your MFBs for repair & reloads
