mechanical problem with an HP 672c printer

i dont know if its a problem, or that something else is causing it...but there is a plastic strip that fell out of the printer....its about 6mmx386mm...and i dont know how its suppost to attach back to the cartridge, even though ive found where on each side it attaches....
but...even if i can get it back into the printer, it seems to be having some trouble moving back and forth.

The Encoder strip is required to let the printer know where the cartridge is at, at all times. It slides into the back of the cartridge assembly in a little slot hole, and is hooked onto metal "fingers" on either side of the printer. Just a note, if the Encoder strip gets dirty it causes the printer to make very loud clunking noises. Clean it with water and the noise goes away completely. Alot of people junk the printers when this happens, and you can pick them up very cheap that way.

well...it came off (fell out), and i dusted it...now the problem is getting it back in...i cant see where it hooks back into the cartridge...can anyone help with some direction

Send me an e-mail so I know your address and I will send you a picture of where it goes into the cartridge holder.
