Mech Warrior reboot

I played through Mech commander 2 and MW4 since they were free. Then got Crysis mainly for the MW mod (Living Legends). Played that for awhile but, I could use more of a structured (read missions) mech action. I was hoping this would be the game for that but it doesn't look good.

Another thought I had was the BattleTech universe seems great for a MMO. Maybe something like Planetside.

I did the same and I was semi disappointed also. I did see the Hawkin video, seems more like a COD type mech shooter. That's cool but I want big heavy mechs that don't run around

Mechwarrior reboot and MMO would be awesome. X-Wing and TIE Fighter reboot with new graphics tech would rock, as would Wing Commander reboot.

If someone did to Mechwarrior/Mech Commander what Freespace SCP did to Freespace, then I think we'll be happy.

Hawken, could be a good game in its own right, but it is no Mechwarrior or Battletech. They have that unique feel.

I've been saying for years that the MW world is *perfect* for an MMO. Plenty of storyline to go on, easily adapted to small and large group play. Natural adaptation to 'raids' and faction battles.

When you 'die' it's really just your mech - could even do 'hardcore' servers where there's an actual chance of character death, etc.

It's as perfect a world as I can imagine.

There used to be a couple of planetary leagues where you could join one of the clans or houses and fight for control of territory and planets. I had a blast playing in it. They are pretty much dead now though because the game is so old.
