I grabbed MechCommander 2 on Saturday and didn't go to bed until 1:00 am, which is damn late for this old gamer! Nothing like some ER PPC and Autocannon action, or some BVR LRM action in an ECM equiped Mech. 😛

I really wish a developer would take over the Mechwarrior series and build some simulation style games from it.

the site crashed so they moved it all to bittorrent. Currently thepiratebay.org is hosting them or whatever the site is called.

So yes no more direct downloads, all the cds are in torrent form now.

MechCommander 2 Shared Source Release:
To help you realize how you or your studio could use XNA Build and enable the features that XNA Build has to offer we?ve included the source code and art for MechCommander 2 (first released by Microsoft in 2001). This code and art is being released under a Microsoft Shared Source License. Using MechCommander 2 you?ll be able to see how we implemented some of the advanced features of XNA Build such as dependency analysis, and more importantly, how we did it without changing the tools that MechCommander 2 was originally built with. You?ll also get to see how we implemented the ARM API?s for some of the tools that MechCommander 2 uses. We also provide an example tool that you can use to browse the dependency data generated by the APIs.
