Umm, perhaps they do, but thats not what is going on here. Amazon tracks your purchases by your account, not cookies on your computer.

I bought a pair of jumper cables. The "also bought" list showed a children's activity book, 12-pack of toothbrushes, and a coffee grinder, along with six pages of the safety kit stuff you'd expect. There's also a "Hoverboard" in the "also bought" list for my laundry detergent. Or the 32-inch HD computer monitor in the "also bought" list for the shoes I'm wearing right now.

The news ran a story a while ago that showed how if you bought certain chemicals for bombs, other crap would be listed. So I think they updated their protocols.
