Measure VRAM usage?

Hey folks,

So I'm using my video card to run GPU accelerated video filters as part of my compression workflow. I can do one 1080p stream with no problem, but two at the same time makes the whole system chug.

I want to see if memory size is the bottleneck. I have a 512MB 9600GT in my work box ATM.

Is there a tool to measure memory usage for nVidia cards?

Thanks!

As I understand it, not in Vista. Vram/system ram allocation is different than XP and previous generations. I'll try to find Unwinder's explanation.

Rivatuner allows you to monitor VRAM usage in XP. Here's a link I googled, follow the steps for Rivatuner. Glanced over it, looks correct. I don't have RT installed anymore as EVGA's Precision does all I really need and has a much smaller footprint. It also doesn't have the unsigned driver pop-up in Vista 64.

But ya, monitoring VRAM and even system RAM are things I wish reviewers would post in their reviews. This feature showed very clearly that the 320MB G80 GTS were choking due to lack of VRAM, unfortunately many reviewers started transitioning away from XP in their test suites and VRAM monitoring no longer works in Vista.
