After much fanfare, Robert Gates and his new general McCrytal, announced that they would reduce civilian causalities. And stay away from concentrations of civilians as the new policy.

In related news, a somewhat pro-Pakistani militant group that had its leader recently assassinated by a Al-Quida led group. Certainly, somewhat a blow to Pakistani interests,
but by local traditions, the slain pro-Pakistani leaders funeral would soon follow. So what happened, some idiot authorized a preditor strike exactly where it was guaranteed many innocent civilians would congregate to in his funeral

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06...a/24pstan.html?_r=1&hp

Since I do not know who authorized the strike, be it a Pakistani or Nato idiot, its still worth pointing out that someone is a total idiot, as the butcher bill from this strike will probable include piles of totally innocent civilians. And it can only benefit Al-Quida in the minds of the local population.

Earth to OC Guy, earth to OCGuy, (1) We do not know if this is a Pakistani idiot or a Nato idiot who authorized the strike. (2) Put yourself in the place of Pakistani or Afghan civilians, if you thought Nato and Pakistan troops were a clear and ever present danger to your survival, would you blindly accept it or would you fight back and make Nato and Pakistan get the hell out of your homes, and in the process kill everyone of them that you can find. We would not tolerate that kind of murder in our country, why should we expect the Afghans or Pakistanis people to allow it either? Do the math, some 40 million local residents of Afghanistan and the tribal areas of Pakistan, and only 100,000 Nato troops, that is damn long odds, piss off the locals and we can all kiss any hopes of positive progress goodbye.

ohh you know how it is. Drop a few bombs to show them who the boss is. Feel good because they are laser guided and don't kill to many civilians or at least they don't kill civilians that shouldn't be killed because this guy was a terrorist and so the people at his funeral must be terrorists too. But you know what? This shit won't change, we will be doomed to kill each other till the sun supernovas or the planets biomass dwindles down to zero and we are gone.

Yes, because an Iranian girl being shot by her government for practicing free speech, and killing a bunch of Jihadis is the exact same thing.

It was a most likely a US strike, not matter who "authorized" it.

If you have a problem with it, take it up with our (D) president, Barack Obama.

When will Obama and his cabal of murders and traitors finally be held accountable for their war crimes?

Huh? Obama had to authorize the strike if it was a US drone, not me.

Is Obama a murderer? Is he inviting terrorism?

Or are you going to bury your head and pretend it isnt Obama like the rest of the lefties?

Edit: Yea, didnt think you were going to be able to answer that.

Has it occurred to any of you that the authorization for the strike could have been a Pakistani?

It was why I was careful in my original post to say that I did not know who authorized it.

If you give a chance to prosecute Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfield, we'll give you a chance with Obama's administration.

Why not do some simple research? Link

It was a US strike, the second of the day.

You ar also making an assumption not backed by any actual facts that civilians were killed.

The facts as of today are that 83 Taliban fighters were killed, up from initial reports of around 60.

There are no confirmed civilian casualties and even if so would be an unfortunate consequence of a legitimate attack on a military target.

Civilian reports also indicate it was a predator strike meaning a US led strike.

Pakistan has been asking for preditor technology, and its still not clear from the link if the authorization was Pakistani or Nato.

Worse yet, the normally reliable long war journal can't even get its facts right, the slain rival was not the anti government Mehsud. " In a serious blow to Pakistan?s effort, on Tuesday an assassin loyal to Mr. Mehsud shot and killed a rival tribal leader, Qari Zainuddin, whom the government had hoped to use as an ally in its campaign to corner the Taliban leader."

We were involved. Obama is doing the same as Bush would have done. How does that make you feel?

60 to 83 Taliban dead in a single strike?

Fucking fantastic!

While we've certainly seen a number of mistakes over the years that resulted in too many "civilian" deaths, there is absolutely nothing to indicate that these 60 to 83 kills are "civilian" beyond Lemon Law's own unfounded/ignorant claims -- and perhaps the claims of others like Lemon Law who see a "civilian" under every Pakistani rock or U.S. rocket.
