Meanings for the display columns in output for "top" in unix

There are two columns in the display for the top command that I haven't been able to find what they mean.

They are SIZE and RES. I am assuming SIZE is the amount of memory the current process is using, but what does RES mean?

Resource?

[EDIT]There's another one as well: NICE. What does this column mean?[/EDIT]
