I found the meaning to Nirvana's "Polly" to be rather interesting...
Polly is a true story about a girl being raped, "think she wants some water to put out the blow torch" Kurt says because the man torchered the 14 year old girl upside down in his trailor park home with a blow torch, a razor, and hot wax. "she's just as bored as me" Kurt says indicating that the girl was pretending she was bored, and pretended she like what the man was doing to her. The girl did get away when the man stopped for gas "she caught me off my guard, it amazes the will of instinct"
