Meadow Voles: 3 for 3!

Ok...I have a rodent problem in my yard. We have two gardens full of pea plants, tomatoes, peppers and leeks. They've pretty much consumed all of my pea plants and have dug extensive "runways" in my backyard. We have dug into a few holes but they're pretty much all empty.

My question to ATOT is...how do I get rid of them? Killing or making them GTFO is fine. As long as there's a way.

lol, not about to blow up the backyard. these things typically are active at night...so I don't see them much...

I had this problem a while ago, except they kept eating our bushes as well. Try mousetraps with a chunk of peanutbutter as bait, worked like a charm.

cat?

Mine used to hunt them down all the time. There were no mice/voles in a 100 ft radius of our house.

I would suggest either a cat or a bunch of traps (live or kill).

I killed one. RAWR. Stabbed it with a shovelhead. Pwnd. I'll see if I can get a pic for ye.

Meadow Voles: A lot of my goddamned pea plants.

Fire usually kills things pretty good.

The coyotes at one of my jobs really love to dig up moles. So uh, get a coyote?

Heh, might go hunting again today. I tried last night before dusk and didn't see any. My screams of "Die b1tch!" must've spooked them.

Severely injured a young one today...it was breathing heavily so I decided to bury it in the same hole I dug it up from. I saw that ah heck go in, so I knew it was in there. Turns out, that was actually a big hole. They're typically filled with dead grass so as to provide insulation or a soft sleeping surface. They also hide under my rain drainage boards (under the gutter pipes).

I saw three others a few hours later. A big one, a small and a medium sized one. Those buggers are fast...requires CS: Source skills to be put to use.

wasnt there a thread recently where the OP was keeping track of what his cat was kiling...rent that guys cat.

also in that thread i think someone posted about a guy a pitch fork and a flashlight..the guy stayed up all night until he saw it start pushing dirt up and he speared it with the pitchfork...

Killed another one yesterday. I was watering the lawn and one starts running around. I followed him with a jet of water and corralled him towards me. Then I stepped on it with my left foot. Yes, I stepped on it. Foot-eye coordination for you. Looks like my hours of tracing fire in CSS and sniping in Halo have paid off.
