I was having problems with my lan modem connector so I tryed updating my motherboard bios. Followed the instructions just like MSI said, used their LIVE update program for it, which they recommended. THe install completed successfully and now when I boot I get a OS loading error. I can still acess the Bios setup but haven't a clue as to what will fix the problem.

I'm running Win XP Home sp2 on a AMD 3500 64bit chip, Mother board MSI K8 NEO4 Nvidea Ultra, 1 Gig (2x512MB) ram, Gforce GT 6600.

Please if anyone can help me, please , please do. I've already sent a email to MSI, and there hours won't be open till Monday. Please help.

Thank you.

I've enabled raid in a few different ways. Not really sure how its suppose to be configured.

I have the MSI K8N Neo4 Nvidea Ultra Mother board. Windows XP Home is installed on an internal SATA Drive (H:\) and then two other IDE hardrives for data, One Internal (C:\) and one external via USB (L:\). I've noticed that depending how many of the raid enables I set a different number of options show up in the CSOM.

There are 8 Raid Enabled options I have in the bios. First & Secondary Master & Slave IDE and 1-4 SATA. Which should be enabled and which disabled given the set up listed above?

Can you direct me to a site that explains what the function of the K8n NEO4 bios are? The in Bios help leaves something to be desired.

Also would you know if all I should need to do is fix the bios settings for everything to be working again? Like I say, all I did was update the Bios to 1.C0 and now after the dMA or DMI pool shows I get the OS Load error. I've tryed setting to Bios back to 1.2 and 1.a both of which have not fixed the problem.

I get the feeling the mother board just can't find the H drive or something or the updated bios has just scrabled it's logic. Do you think there is any risk of permenant damage here?

Thank you for your help.

It shouldnt be enabled at all if you don't have a created a specific array... RAID is something different that need something to be done with 2 or more HDD. Since you obviously don't know about RAID, you don't have any array created..
