I've heard of restart problems in ME but can't find any info on it.

Lately ME has been having a problem coming out of standby mode. I get a chirping or squeaking sound coming out of the box and nothing else. The first couple of times, hitting the reset got it going. This last time, I had to hit the power switch.

Does this sound like an OS problem, or could it be hardware?

P.S. I have "Turn off HardDisk" set to 3 hr. Should I set this to never?

 
I have had the same problem. IT was fixed I believe when I clean my registry. It so happened it crash on a prog or the prog didn't close out on Winme so Winme crashed.

 
One more try. I haven't used standby till today, but in the power cp the standby option is no longer there. In its place is hibernate. I set it to hibernate but nothing happens. Any ideas?
