ME RAM requirements

How much ram can someone get by with on ME? I have a friend who wants to buy ME, but he only has 64MB. I know that I haven't been able to get 2000 to run on that low, how about ME?

Well, the box lists 32MB minimum. Then it explicitly says more RAM means more performance; no doubt. Personally, I would not hesitate to toss in an additional 64MB or 128MB stick.

I'm runnin' 64megs of Kingston with ME. No problems at all.

at least 64, 96 or 128 is a lot better

I've ran win2k on 64mb and it ran fine. Just don't do any heavy multitasking and you should be fine.

it is windows people, it pretty much doesn't care if you have a processor as long as you have loads of ram...j/k

Ive ran 32MB on WinME...
Doesn't seem any different then 32MB on Win98 =-/

I have WinME on the wife's system with 64MB RAM; it runs fine.

Made some experiments:
With 32MB SE and ME are same slow, swapfile usage from the boot.
With 96MB SE much faster ME - ME takes more memory
With 192MB ME much faster than SE, no swapfile usage at all.
