Just as an aside...you should always load the PSU by plugging in at least one device like a drive when testing it by jumping green and black.

No, I checked for that. Standoffs were in the right places. What I find very odd is there is not a single mark on the mobo. No smoked caps, inductors, chips, traces, nothing at all visable. The board looks perfect.

Yeah, I wanted to see how it did too. I was hoping to figure out the overclocking problems people were haiving with it. BTW, its gone from Newegg. I guess someone was upset that 865PE boards were selling before release.

Yea, me too... I didn't find a single mark on mine either.... strange... with MSI's <sarcasm>great</sarcasm - for those of you never had the pleasure of dealing with them> RMA service, the dead board is still sitting in my cabinet.. :disgust:

About the 865PE boards being pulled... may be you guys were true beta testers... :D:p

Eh, no real reason to open it up. Its toast. I dont need to see anything in there.

Newegg just gave me an RMA refund on the mobo with no fee. Very nice to deal with.

Antec has a 3 year warrantee. They are cross shipping me a PS.

On the power up delay, I saw this on the [ H ] review of the IC7-G
One odd thing about our board is that it had a delay from the time you engaged the power button to the moment the system actually powered up. Sometimes this delay would be up to 5 seconds. Going back and talking directly to Intel about this, they mentioned that at one point in time that it was in fact part of the Canterwood chipset spec, but was not any longer. We advised ABIT of this and odds are you will be seeing this delay disappear in future revisions of the BIOS.

Hmm... I haven't experienced this with my IC7... <knocks on wood...>
