Just got all 4 of my wisdom teeth out yesterday. Every single one was impacted.

Woke up this morning with a very swollen jaw. This really sucks. I just got back from college 4 days ago and everybody else is getting back now too but I can't see them because I'm sitting here with ice packs strapped to my face and I'm on perkasin or whatever it is.. a generic version all I know is it has codeine in it... mmmmmmmmmm.

Damn I'm pitiful. 4 of my friends came over last night, my girlfriend brought them, and they couldnt stop laughing for about 5 minutes when they saw my jerry rigged ice packs with an ace bandage around my head. UGH. I hate this.

Ah whiney little girls. At least you didn't hear "oops, broke the root, I'm gonna have to dig for it" when you got yours pulled.

I had mine out before they came through the skin. I sure am glad I had it way easier compared to everyone else.

Hope you have less pain soon, that must suck.

As of my father it seems that the men in my family aren't getting their wisdom teeth. He's 42 and I'm 24 and no painful teeth yet. I'm crossing my fingers.

Scope!

I had both IV for general anesthetic so I was unconcsious and a lot of local anesthetic. Procedure done at about 11 AM, total feeling returned to tongue and lower jaw area around 11 PM. That was weird having half my tongue numb.

Time to go gently rinse with salt water.

My doctor gave me perkasets (spelling) and I was flying high for two weeks.

Also I would like to recommend not sucking on a straw or anything else for that matter. If you do there is a chance you could get a "dry socket" and from what I was told it is one of the most painful things you could ever experience.

It is spelled Percocet and it does NOT contain codeine.

Yeah they told me dont suck on a straw cuz the blood clots could come out. Don't want dry socket.

The bottle of pills I have is ____Codeine. The ___ I can't remember what it is but its a weird medical prefix assumably another drug mixed with it.

I would probably listen to Millenium on this man, and I'm pretty sure that it's hydrocodeine which is not the same as codeine

WTF kind of oral surgeons are you guys going to?

I had all 4 taken out a few years ago. 2 had started coming in, 2 had not broken through my gums yet. The guy gave me some local anesthetic (read: I was awake for those who don't know) and the guy went about his business. It was kind of odd because even though there's no pain, you can still feel exactly what he's doing. After shooting the 3rd tooth out of my mouth, hitting the nurse and landing on the floor across the room, he got the last one and I was allowed to leave.

I took some anti inflammatory drugs and got a prescription for 30 tylenol 3s with codeine. I bled and drooled all over my pillow that night, but was fine within 2 days. I only had to take 4 out of the 30 tylenol 3s he presribed.

Totally not like the horror stories everyone had told me just before I got it done.

No. If it is Percocets it is Oxycodone/APAP. If if is Lortabs/Lorcets/Vicoden then you are looking at Hydrocodone/APAP. Codeine Sulfate and Phosphate are much weaker Opiate Agonists and if you had four wisdom teeth removed he would have to be a sick bastard to give you that.

That must be it... I probably just misread the bottle.

In any case I'm not allowed to drive which royally sucks, until the drugs wear off that is.

I had reconstructive surgery on my knees a couple years back... Doc gave me Many, many, many Percocets... Took the pain away, but it wasn't until after the knee healed and I took one I realized how powerful those percocets are. Beware of the little white pills...they're fun, but they'll bite you in the a$$.

Little white pills = bliss from the pain.

I have only taken 3 so far. I do one at a time even tho the bottle says 1 or 2 every 4 to 6 hours. I take them about every 6 hours unless it starts hurting again.

I'll make sure and be careful and not take too many.
