ME-320 enclosure USB error help

i have the enclosure and am having trouble getting it to work on usb1.1 and usb2.0. everything i try still gives me the same error: "device cannot start. (Code 10)" in the device manager. i've tried uninstalling the usb2.0 controller, usb mass storage device, and swapping cables. still same error. please help.

That sounds like a driver issue type erroor to me. Sure you are using the correct driver?

yea, i think i'm using the correct driver. i don't know how to change it as it's the windows USB Mass Storage Device driver that comes with windows. any other ideas?

what version of windows? and how is the enclosure being connected to the computer (hub, etc). and what do you have in the enclosure.

windows xp home w/ sp1 and a WD 180GB HD in the external. connected via directly to USB 2.0 port on laptop. not on hub.
