Anyone know what causes MD5 Errors trying to install games from CD/DVD's? I have 2 DVD burners and they both do it now. Sometimes I can get the game installed without the error message popping up but then game won't start up or will crash to desktop.

But it's not consistant because I was able to install BF Vietnam and HL2 and both are running fine. It also seems like half of my downloads from the web are corrupt. But a lot of things downloaded and run fine!

I've done some searching and can guess at memory or PSU. But once things are installed correctly they run fine and I get no BSOD or programs shutting down or any of the usual things you would associate with memory or PSU. Running at default speeds and timings also trying to figure this out.

HELP!!

Edit- also have tried the various nf4 Nvida drivers 6.66, 6.70 and no change.

Hmmm.. Only 5000+ errors running a full memtest86 pass. I guess I found a place to start. But the instructions in memtest say that the motherboard can also induce many of these errors. Time to start swapping memory I guess.....

No problems at all now with BF2 install and patching. Now I wish I could post on all those forums that had peeps with the MD5 Error and tell them to test their memory!
