MCSE 2000 vs. MCSE 2003

any reason why I should go for MCSE 2000 over MCSE2003? starting some tutoring in April, I want to do 2003 cause it just seems to make sense to do the 'latest thing', but the tutor is saying 2000 isn't a bad idea- it's easier, more 'well developed' and most organizations still use 2000.
