You and me both. However, I wouldn't get a P1 before I got an F1. The McLaren F1 is the greatest, most beautiful car ever built.

I saw an MP4-12C about 3 weeks ago just driving around. Looked awesome. If he hadn't been going the other direction I would have followed it.

I saw a P1 in the flesh on the M42 at the weekend. Was fortunate enough to be driving with my fiancé so she got some video of it, below are a few grabs from the video. Very nice car.

Amazing how fast that thing is. I wonder how its lap time compares to an F1 car around that circuit.

I was in Newport Beach yesterday with a friend of mine, we were going out for lunch, and we were waiting at the light at Newport Coast Drive and PCH to turn left when I saw a charcoal color Lamborghini Gallardo convertible go by. Then a few seconds later I saw a yellow Lamborghini Gallardo convertible turn onto Newport Coast Drive. After we made the turn we saw a Bentley Continental GT and then coming back from lunch we saw another Lamborghini Gallardo Convertible coming down Newport Coast Drive.

I would be surprised at all to see this car roaming the streets in Newport Beach sometime soon if there isn't one already.

Fast as it is, it would be beyond pathetic compared to an F1 car. Domination doesn't begin to describe the gap. But that's comparing hamburgers to sharks.

I never suggested it would be comparable. I was just curious what the lap time was and how far off the F1 cars it would be.

The P1 has gotten a lot of marketing from Forza 5 on the XB1. Having not known much about it prior to then driving it in the game, it sure is a mind-blowing car.

Speaking of the MP4-12C, I walked out in the parking lot of my office about a year ago and there was a guy out there getting into his Ferrari 458 and before he turned it on, I yell out at him, "Nice Ferrari!" End up talking to him and gave me his business card and he said he was heading out to have lunch with his friend who just bought the MP4-12C and they were going to compare their cars. Almost like having a dick measuring contest. Between those two cars I'd rather have the 458.

Nice catch. Seeing a P1 on the road is like spotting a fucking unicorn.

You could go your entire life without seeing these cars in real life. I had my share of Lambo and Ferarri posters on the wall as a kid. Still haven't seen an bunch of them in person.

Saw my first Ferrari 360 Spider the other day. Kid driving it looked about 20. He drove off before I could decide whether to give him the thumb or the finger. Sounded amazing.

I live in Woking so I've seen about 2 P1s cruising around lol. The car looks insane on the road. All 375 cars have been sold but there is a dealer in Dubai selling one for £1.25M. It has amazing road presence.

The MP4 12C looks great.

As for speed, I think I saw a youtube video and the 12C was beating beaten by a touring car race spec civic. It had about 300-330BHP and was about 900kg stripped out.

Real race cars are on a totally different level to road cars. I'm fairly sure the civic was running race slicks as well which makes a huge difference. Bear metal everywhere in the car :)

Many months ago I received a call from a McLaren US rep asking if I wanted one, since I got a 12C spider. I told them, "Yeah, sure, send it on over, can you set up payments for the next 20 years?" Big difference between them, there. Hah. :D

Edit: Yeah, tires are everything, mine with slicks is a different car too.

I've seen just about every car imaginable on the roads here. I've even seen a Maserati MC12 (only 55 of these were made) and a couple Porsche Carrera GTs. I've seen a few 458 Italias and hoards of Lamborghinis. Haven't seen a P1 yet but I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

South OC is probably the only other place outside of Miami Beach that seeing multiple of these things a day is not a big deal.

I remember seeing a veyron, carerra GT and an SLR mercedes on the same day awhile back.

Damn. My dream cars are this and the Ford GT. Two cars that never had to "grow on me". Love at first sight.

Back to reality, I see myself buying a used C7 several years from now, or a slightly used Mustang GT...you know something much more realistic.

That Chris Harris video is great. He's a capable driver reacting how any car geek would.

They're going apesh*t over the P1, and it is impressive from a technological standpoint, but the Koenigsegg Agera R still crushes it in half the performance metrics being measured, and it's 3 years old. If I were buying a hypercar, and some day I hope to, it would be from Sweden.

Didn't the last Agera sell for like $4.5 million or something silly like that? Don't get me wrong, I love Koenigsegg, but man, those are super expensive cars.
