What do you guys think the car will be worth in about 5 years? And anyone watch maintenance/reliability history on super cars? I want to get one in about 5 years and use it as one of two daily drivers.

So is it a Miata, a C7Z, or an MP4-12C? I can't keep track...

I would read up at this place.

Haha was really feeling the Miata today, I've been driving my corolla for the past few weeks (335i's in the shop as always just when the weather is perfect) and I feel like it's got a better amount of power for the road. I don't like going 15+ off the speed limit and I enjoy the slower climb of the corolla (albeit it's a bit too slow). Plus my windows almost always need to be down, Miata might just be the perfect car for me.

C7 is great, but it's not a McLaren, in 5 years or so depending on how things play out if they McLaren isn't a pain in the ass to maintain/drive daily I might just get that. Plus if it doesn't die on me too fast I won't have urges for any other cars after it. But I still might get the Miata, there's just something about thrashing a car around corners and not having to spend thousands on components. Although I had a 300 yesterday and N/A engines are still pretty great. I don't know if forced induction is for me. Plus the transmission on that thing was buttery smooth compared to BMWs.

And.... McLarens are fucking awesome. Although so are Ferrari's but it's a Ferrari. Rubs me the wrong way supporting the man again. And my homeless looking, flip flop loving, self might just be perfect with a McLaren.

A Corolla has a better amount of power for the road than a 335i, yet you want to daily an MP4-12C.

You are a very confused creature.

Who the hell cross shops between a Miata and a McLaren? Am I missing something here?

In 5 years, you want to daily drive a car that ended production last year? Mostly, I take it, because you can't afford it now?

If you had the money in 5 years, a 650S would likely be a better solution to this imaginary problem you're having.

Oh, and because I have nothing better to do, the Lambo Gallardo retails for around $60,000 less than the 12C. Currently, the cheapest one I could find on autotrader was a 2007 for still north of $100,000.

Guys (who don't frequent ATOT), in case you didn't know, the OP is a known mental loonie, and troll.

He/she is apparently a young 20 some year old, with an average job (engineering or programming of some kind). There's approximately a 0% chance he/she will be able to own a McLaren unless he's sitting on some huge estate or just hit the lotto.

Yes, he's a troll...

There's a guy on these forums that has a McLaren, I believe it was an MP4-12C. Maybe he'll sound off on how well they act as a DD. My brother-in-law pretty much DD's his R8 though he doesn't really have a "job" per se.

I only daily drive one of my McLarens. I preserve the other 3 and keep the miles down. Overall, I would say any McLaren is *almost* as good as the original Miata. Well, according to the Internet.
