MCE worth buying over the free stuff?

Is it? I am thinking about using mediaportal but what does MCE do that mediaportal can't? Mediaportal to me seems to look as nice.
 
GBPVR. Works well, though it takes some setup. I have it running on my HTPC right now. It does its job recording things that I want to watch, and removing the commercials. I'm sure there is much more that I can do with it, I just need to find out how. The GBPVR Wiki and forums are quite good. Plus best of all, it's free.
