McDonald's value meal isn't a value anymore

JEDI

Lifer
i was in a mood for a big mac. i havent eaten at mcdonalds for a couple of years. last i remember, a big mac value meal was $3.59

now big mac, med drink, med fries for $4.29

but if you do this:
big mac = 2.29
med fries = $1 ($1 menu)
small drink = $1 ($1 menu)
---------------
total = $4.29

so all the value meal does is free upsize from 12oz coke to 16oz, which doesnt matter since it's free refills.

it's no longer any value. going back to Wendy's jr bacon cheesburger for $.99

I got a great deal at Arby's recently on a Value Meal. Turkey/bacon sandwich, fries, shake. They ring up the fries and shake at the regular price, then reduce the sandwich price to come up with the "value meal combo" price. The sandwich alone was $4.79 - with the value meal it was something like $3.29.

how the hell do you get in the mood for a big mac? starve yourself for a week and hit your head hard enough to get a concussion?

Just about every Mcdonalds that has an indoor eatery, with the exception of ones that are located in Casinos/Amusement parks, have the beverage station out in the open.

Dear HonkeyDonk,
I regret that my receipt wasn't to your liking. Let me assure "u" that I am able to read a receipt, I would know if I used a coupon and certainly would have mentioned it, and I do not need to lie on a computer forum.

I can't speak for the cashier's mathematical abilities, but she did use a large machine with many buttons to enter my order and I got exactly what I asked for. The machine displayed the total so I will hazard a guess that it was correct.

Bullsh!t, indeed.

Have you gotten any raises in the last couple of years since you last ate at MickyD's?

Guess what, the people that work there probably did too.

normally geekbabe, i like your posts. but for this one, all i can say is dumb blonde...

1) the minimum wage hasn't been increased in like a decade. if the workers got raises, it probably would have been the same amount as years ago.
2) the prices for individual items at mcdonalds have been the same for years. its just that the discount you get with a value meal is now non-existant.

oh wait..am i confusing u with hotchic?

ok..one has a pic of herself laying on the grass..the other with bf infront of a fridge. confused...

pic of geekbabe? pic of hotchic?
