McDonalds sued for not reducing trans fats in their cooking oil.

Fast-food giant accused of failing to reduce fat in cooking oil

Oak Brook, Ill.-based McDonald?s pledged in September 2002 to switch to a lower-fat oil by February, 2003.

The suit, filed in federal court on behalf of a California woman, says McDonald?s has not disclosed ?to the public in an effective manner that it had not switched to a new, healthier cooking oil.?

The restaurant chain had announced it planned to cut the trans fat levels in its fried foods. But McDonald?s has delayed the plan, citing concerns of product quality and customer satisfaction.

*sigh*

Now tell me, why couldn't those guys put this lady and her lawyers in a birdcage instead of that helpless kitty?

Uh...yeah, that's a great idea. So would be the idea of not eating McDonald's food in the first place.

Jesus, this fscking country is going into the toilet fast. Nobody wants to take responsibility for being a lard-ass, much less anything else.

I swear, personal responsibility has totally disappeared from society.
Seriously. Granted, trans-fats are the debbil, but if you're health-conscious at all you don't eat at McDonalds and if you do, you sure as hell don't order the fried stuff. I have no love for McD's, but this lawsuit is bullshit.

If you were thinking eating fries and other fried foods would be a good way to eat healthy, please stand in line and be shot by me. Besides I rather not know what was used to cook my food when I eat out. As long as the food is good, that's what matters to me.

On another note, McD's fries aren't the same without the beef flavor.

The lawsuit has nothing to do with fat people or personal responsiblity, McDonald's promised to switch their cooking oil and didn't. Plain and simple. When you don't live up to the promise, you should face the consequences.

So leave. I'm sure France would gladly take you.

Here is an article that explains it better. This isn't one of those "McDonalds made me fat lawsuits."
Doesn't matter. Why should mcdonalds have to lower the fat in their fries in the first place?

Don't you need to go kill a spider somewhere? Better yet, go flame the other people who expressed a similar sentiment about personal accountability in America, or STFU already.

For what it's worth, I like living here. I just don't like the fact that no one wants to take responsibility for their own actions when they get fat or their kids shoot up a fscking school.

yeah so?

I'm really missing the point here. ok McDonalds said they would change the oil. they have yet to do it so they get sued?

Did McDonalds make a contract or something else legally binding with anyone? hmm odd.

It's called false advertising fvcktard.

Of course, no company should ever have to own up to what they promise their customers. No one should ever complain about a company's empty promises.

---------- Xiety says -----------

i hope mcdonalds wins so they have to pay mcd's legal fees.

---------- Cheers 🙂 ----------
