Wendy's burgers and sandwiches shrank in size. Single, double, and spicy chicken sandwiches are smaller. I guess they made it smaller instead of raising the price.

Doubtful. The "size" of Wendy's burgers has to do with the way they are pressed out in the grill. They are always 2oz Juniors, 4oz Singles (AKA, Quarter-Pound Singles). The size of the burger is directly compared to the attention that the grill operator gives it, and unfortunately many stores are going to the "clamshell" style grill that doesn't do a good job pressing them out.


The wrappers have gone back to the classic wax wrapper for the sake of the classic feel.

No, they definitely shrank everything about the burger. The patty was smaller and the bun was different like a kids burger. My tiny Jr Bacon Cheeseburger was in a foil hamburger wrapper not wax.

My wife noticed her chicken sandwich was smaller too but that incident was two weeks before and just thought she ordered the wrong thing.

Go see for yourself.

I did happen to go their for lunch today (this thread got me wanting a burger from them!)... and you're wrong. Wanna know why? The kid's burger IS a junior burger. They only have two sizes of meat, as I previously mentioned. Does it really surprise you that the kids burger, which is just a junior burger (89 - 94 cents in most places) minus the onions (because kids don't like onions!) is the same size as the junior bacon cheeseburger (99 - 119 cents in most places)? So when you say that your junior bacon was different like a kid's burger, you clearly are missing something.

You're welcome to give them a call and ask them or something. Argue it all day long if you feel like but I've already told you, plain as day, why they might SEEM smaller.

Proves nothing.

First off, 3 of the links you give aren't from Wendy's. They could have used their own methods for calculating the items.

Second, there are 7 ingredients on the JBC. (Bun, Mayo, Tomato, Lettuce, cheese, bacon, and the beef.) I don't believe for a second that the meat alone changing to any acceptable size would drop the calories by ~60-70. I wouldn't think 1 of the 7 items is entirely responsible for a change.

Third, the PDFs you've shown list all the ingredients separately at the end. The junior patty goes from 100 calories to 90 calories between the two. The bun alone drops 40 calories. I do not believe that you can accurately tell a difference between a cooked patty containing 100 calories and 90 calories. This could also be a result solely of changes to the way it is processed. Judging by the fact that all of the other ingredients in it drop about 5 calories, it could be that the equipment used was calibrated differently between the times.

But again, feel free to call them and find out. I'll put "Aldamon owned my sorry ass" in my sig for a week if you can get Wendy's to confirm this. PM me when you do, because otherwise I know who's right and there's no reason for me to keep posting over something so trivial.

Worked at Wendys as a teen. The kid meal burgers and the juinor bacon cheese burger are cut. A full 1/4lb has 1/3 taken off, with the other 2/3 being used to make the burger. They save the other 1/3 and combine it with another if they can, or if it sits too long on the grill it gets tossed into the "chili meat" container, used "next" day.
