Damn the economy is sucking real bad, my salary is not worth as much is my only concern right now![]()
I laugh every time I see someone make a comment like this these days. The economy is not "sucking real bad" [sic], it's simply not growing as fast as it once was. The economy was in bad shape in the early 1980's, but it really hasn't had a strongly negative period since then. Even when the bubble burst in 2000 it wasn't really a case of the economy flatlining, rather it was a natural correction. The unemployment rate is holding steady around 4.5%, which is on the happy side of the overall average since 1948 (the first year for which I was able to find data).
Just because we're no longer on an artificially steep (and, consequently, non-sustainable) growth curve doesn't mean that we're in a state of decline.

Does anyone know if the Jr Bacon Cheeseburger at Wendy's shrank? I got one last night and it was tiny and in a generic "hamburger" wrapper.
Someone else noticed this, too:

Wendy's burgers and sandwiches shrank in size. Single, double, and spicy chicken sandwiches are smaller. I guess they made it smaller instead of raising the price.

Did the dollar menu turn into the $1.25 menu?

Doubtful. The "size" of Wendy's burgers has to do with the way they are pressed out in the grill. They are always 2oz Juniors, 4oz Singles (AKA, Quarter-Pound Singles). The size of the burger is directly compared to the attention that the grill operator gives it, and unfortunately many stores are going to the "clamshell" style grill that doesn't do a good job pressing them out.
The wrappers have gone back to the classic wax wrapper for the sake of the classic feel.

No, they definitely shrank everything about the burger. The patty was smaller and the bun was different like a kids burger. My tiny Jr Bacon Cheeseburger was in a foil hamburger wrapper not wax.
My wife noticed her chicken sandwich was smaller too but that incident was two weeks before and just thought she ordered the wrong thing.
Go see for yourself.

You're welcome to give them a call and ask them or something. Argue it all day long if you feel like but I've already told you, plain as day, why they might SEEM smaller.

I don't have to. I have hard numbers. Look at all of the Junior burgers and how the calories have dropped!
Gee, I wonder how they cut 60 calories off the JBC?
