I saw a show a while ago on how they dressed up burgers and stuff for ads. They cut the patty and spread it out to make it fill out the bun better, handpick the lettuce and buns, and did everything they could do make it look the very best possible.

I vaguely remember watching a show about this once. They use real food, but add to it. Glue in the milk for cereal commercials, for instance, to keep the cereal from getting soggy.
