McDonald's Coke

Has anyone ever noticed that Mcdonalds has a slightly different taste to their coke?

I've heard from many many people that they do have a slightly different "formula" for the coke they use.

Anyone know anything about this?

well, fountain drinks are shipped in two seperates sections, the syrup and then the carbonated water so it doesn't go flat. Could be the ratio between the two is a little off. (probably more water, since its cheaper than the syrup)

most fountain drinks suck and if the person that sets the mix it a maroon, then it really sucks

mcdonalds coke is awesome, wendys is too carbonated and not enough syrup, burger king is too flat and uses crappy waxy cups. It's like a trademark.
Also, the wide gauge straws make a difference in the flavor too, imo.

ed: actually, come to think of it .. is burger king pepsi? that might explain why I hate it so much, if it is.

Yep, that's all it is. I personally like it when they mix a bit more syrup in than carbonation....I think Coke is a bit too harsh normally.

That's yet another reason why Pepsi is better.

Okay, I know I haven't, but has anyone heard anything dumber than this tonight?

The freaking wide straws make a difference, give me a break. :disgust:

Carbonated water? Soda fountains run off of tap water, there's just a C02 tank to carbonate it when dispensed (mixed right before it hits your glass).

lol. whatever. Same fvcking difference. The only time I've set up a fountain machine was interestingly enough at a camp ground with no running water. We used gaint thingys of carbonated water.

Great analysis.

Now write up a nice conclusion statement and you win.

Haha! That was so stupid it was funny!
But yeah, I always have noticed that even the Coke is better at McDonald's. They probably add something more addictive than caffeine. Remember a few years ago, it came out that they add beef flavoring to their french fries? Yep, the vegetarians didn't like that.

I'd be willing to bet that they mix it a bit strong on the syrup, at least the ones here.

That's the only thing that makes McD's worth a crap. Well, that and the bacon McGriddle. Those things are addicting.
