Newsradio 620 WTMJ Talk Show Host James T. Harris, attending the event as a spectator, begged McCain to get tougher with Obama in their final debate.

The "liberal media" doesn't report this because if the American public saw the extreme radicalism coming from the Republicans right now, with yet more pointless character attacks designed to do nothing more than distract from the issues pressing this country, this wouldn't be a close race anymore and they'd lose expected ad revenues while Obama won in a runaway landslide.

Ya know, after viewing that clip, I envisioned McCain and Obama in a boxing ring, it's the fifteenth round, Obama's been bring'in it to McCain all through the fight with stinging jabs, slobber knockers and searing heaters across McCain's ears, but saving the haymakers for the final seconds. McCain's corner is screaming at him to crank it up and put Obama down, but 'ol McCain is just played out. The repub base has every reason to be angry- at their leadership playing them for fools, and at themselves, for being such chumps.

The politics of denial effectively prevent that, unfortunately. That anger is redirected with the usual us vs them framing, becoming more dangerous because it can't be resolved rationally, at all. The people directing that rage are the ones deserving of it- the politicians, talk radio personalities and thinktank pundits of the Right...
