Yeah, if we can just keep those damn conservative talk show hosts from impersonating McCain supporters, maybe the 'libruah' media would take you guys more seriously.

Oh, in case you miss the relevant details:

Newsradio 620 WTMJ Talk Show Host James T. Harris, attending the event as a spectator, begged McCain to get tougher with Obama in their final debate.

AM radio hosts can't be specators?

Sure, but don't you think it's really funny that probably the only black guy in the whole room is situated that close to the podium, and he's given a microphone, not knowing what he was going to say? I'm not a farmer, but I do know a plant when I see one.

I hope McCain does everything he suggests and more.

Heh. The "liberal media" doesn't report this because if the American public saw the extreme radicalism coming from the Republicans right now, with yet more pointless character attacks designed to do nothing more than distract from the issues pressing this country, this wouldn't be a close race anymore and they'd lose expected ad revenues while Obama won in a runaway landslide.

But by all means, please... take it to Obama. Pretty please with sugar on it.

EDIT: I think even McCain is a bit intimidated.

Ya know, after viewing that clip, I envisioned McCain and Obama in a boxing ring, it's the fifteenth round, Obama's been bring'in it to McCain all through the fight with stinging jabs, slobber knockers and searing heaters across McCain's ears, but saving the haymakers for the final seconds. McCain's corner is screaming at him to crank it up and put Obama down, but 'ol McCain is just played out. He has just enough energy left to throw spitballs at Obama and not much else, yet his corner is in a rage and want him to pound the crap out of that muslim socialist terrorist so bad, but McCain's in the center of the ring flat-footed, seeing double and aching badly from head to toe, with no more to give.

Sad, really.

While I fully understand the cynicism, I have to say that even this pathetic attempt om McCain's part helped to restore some of my faith in human nature...
As we speak, the idiots over at Fixed News are roasting McCain on a spit for the comments. Even with that expected reaction from the Rep base, McCain chose to reverse course and start down the path of honour.
Well done Senator...now for God's sake, keep at it!
I'm sure you realise by now that Obama has won, so it's time to start the healing!

The repub base has every reason to be angry- at their leadership playing them for fools, and at themselves, for being such chumps.

The politics of denial effectively prevent that, unfortunately. That anger is redirected with the usual us vs them framing, becoming more dangerous because it can't be resolved rationally, at all. The people directing that rage are the ones deserving of it- the politicians, talk radio personalities and thinktank pundits of the Right...

it's hard to watch that. You can not believe in this age of information that people can be that ignorant
Many people cannot see the world except as a big conspiracy. To them the conspiracy their highschool educated dad used to drill down their throats while they were schlepping it in the woods hunting for deer is that them there democrats want to make this country socialist and bastardize the values the founding fathers had. They're evil and they must be stopped.

I just have to rely on the good judgment of the voters not to buy into these negative attack ads. Sooner or later, people are going to figure out if all you run is negative attack ads you dont have much of a vision for the future or you're not ready to articulate it."

It seems to me that they fear Obama.

Maybe they have correctly identified him as the Messiah. ;)

For all the Republican attempts to make it seem like Democratic candidates are "far left", those kind of extremist charges seem way more accurate when applied to Republicans.

The trouble is, most of those reasonable republicans are staying home. Who can blame them? Why would they be at a rally when the reasonable republican party no longer exists. 8 years of bush bullshit has distilled the "base" down to little more then a potent concentrated mix of crazies.

Old lady: "He's an Arab."
McCain: "No, he's a decent family-man." WTF

You haven't gotten the memo? All Arabs are terrorist monsters who hate us for our freedoms and want to kill us and pollute our childrens' precious bodily fluids.

Good lord. How quickly you partisan hacks forget the angry "hillary" crowds, racist comments, interviews. And they were in the same damn party!
