McCain message to hit Berlin Thursday

WASHINGTON (CNN) ? Barack Obama is not the only presidential candidate who will be front-and-center in Berlin this Thursday. Well, sort of.

In the latest effort to counter-program Obama?s tour of Europe and the Middle East, the Republican National Committee will air radio ads promoting John McCain?s candidacy in three different Berlins: Berlin, New Hampshire; Berlin, Pennsylvania; and Berlin, Wisconsin.

Seriously, how retarded is this? Their latest ads don't even make sense. Blame Obama on high gas prices? Media is in love with him? I mean these things drive away voters... hillarious...

Well he is running for president of the United States. Why would he need to deliver a sales pitch to Germans? Going to the ME and visiting the troops for photo ops makes sense. Wasting your time trying to convince the Europeans of your qualifications and make them like you is pointless. They dont vote in November.

As for the spots in those cities. It as the blog points out a clever manuever. I think it will gain a little recognition but more importantly point out a presidential candidate is spending time in foreign countries talking with foreign people's instead of his own potential voters.

Long term of it. People wont remember this come Novemember anyways.

Genx87, you're right that the citizens of foreign countries don't vote in our GE but given how horrible our foreign policy has been of late I think it is a factor for voters here in the US. I know it is for me.

You just confuse yourself when you ask a stupid question.

Berlin, New Hampshire; Berlin, Pennsylvania; and Berlin, Wisconsin are all more important to the presidential election than Berlin, Germany.

what have you got against Berlin, NH anyways? it's a nice town

Population of Berlin, PA + Berlin, NH + Berlin, WI = 17,280
US Expat Population In Germany = 97,864

BTW, from Wiki:

German Americans are citizens of the United States of ethnic German ancestry. They currently form the largest self-reported ancestry group in the United States, accounting for 49 million people, or 17% of the U.S. population.
So Obama's trip to Berlin isn't such a bad idea.

and there is american media in berlin...covering how Obama is going to walk into Berlin like a fvcking Rockstar. And everybody here back home is going to tune in.

Man some of you guys are dense. Obama isn't doing anything "pointless" his strategy is very clear...and he is winning over people all over the world.

And the media is showing it 24/7.

Everybody loves a winner.

As for McCain...his TV spots in cities named Berline is clever...but short-lived media as far as media attention is concerned.

Heh you think 3rd and 4th generation decendents care if he is talking to the fatherland?

I am one of those and honestly could care less if either candidate talks to Germans.
