Hey all

Recently I installed Network Associates Total Virus suite onto a small business LAN. Setup all the workstations to look locally to the server for their updates and had the NTserver download its new .DAT files from the FTP site for NAI. When I load Mcaffee onto some of these machines, it boots up, then the virus scan kicks in during the boot up process and BAM Blue screen with a fatal exception error. Out of 30 workstations, only about 5 or 6 have this problem. I believe it to be the boot scan that Virusscan does during the system boot process, but need to know if anyone out there may have encountered this problem and how they went about fixing it.

All help is appreciated.
Thanks

We had the same problem at work on some machines, only on Win98. I don't remember exactly, but there are a few things that you can disable from start folder in MSCONFIG that will resolve the issue. One is webscan x, the others not sure right now, (I'm at home and don't have the documentation with me). If you like I can let you know on Mon or Tue eve. Let me know.

Yes that would be great if you could do that for me. I tryed the msconfig thing the firt time I tryed to play with it, and I disabled the scan memory at bootup option upon installation, but it still blue screens and my company is looking to me, for answers on why their inferior product doesnt work on all machines its installed:|

Thanks
