McAfee Viruscan problem

We have a few machines at a client's offices that are running McAfee Viruscan Home edition (I know, I know, wasn't my decision to use that version...), v9 IIRC.

Occasionally it will disable itself. No updates are being performed, and there's nothing in Event Viewer or anywhere else to explain this. Systems are clean of viruses.

Can anyone help? We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that fixed it for a few days, then it started doing it again :|

Phil, I had the same problem on McAfee AntiVirus Pro, my solution was to switch to Kaspersky :\ sorry I couldn't be more help

Sadly, changing AV is not an option. The boss specified VS Home, and thus we're on VS Home. :| :roll:

Anyone else?
