McAfee Viruscan 2006 -- Resource Hog?

How does this compare to NAV? I'm traditionally a NAV user but it's just getting way too bloated. I'm using AntiVir right now, I know McAfee has a better detection rate than anitivir, auto updates and stuff, but apart from that any other compelling reason to buy it?
There are some pretty good deals on VirusScan 2006 so thinking of getting it.

If you're going to pay for AV, you may as well get the best.

McAfee and NAV are great, but not the best. Kapersky and F-Secure rank much higher (see: http://www.virus.gr/english/fullxml/default.asp?id=32&mnu=32 )
