MC462 hs/fan

Haven't seen a review for it, but most certainly is the best aircooled heatsink out there. Does it suck or blow is what im wondering about, probably suck cause of the pin sink alpha like design, but dunno.

I want one!!
I've already got some mods planned out for it 😛

Looks good performance wise, but the fastening (with 4 screws etc...) seems to be a pain! How long does it take to put on/off I wonder...

actually, the 4 screw idea looks good to me, ive already broke 1 socket lug and crushed 1 cpu with a clip on HS, i welcome the idea of using screws through the mobo to put on the thing: ) as long as you get everything right the first time, you shouldnt have to mount it more than once. that is if tho: )

i think im going to go for this as long as my mobo will accept those screws, i emailed them so hopefully i hear back from them by monday. their pelter *sp*/water cooler setup looks pretty cool too, i think i may get one of those next month after i heal some of the damage on my CC and see how it fairs on my p3 600e. there is a pretty thorough explination on how to seal the socket so condensation doesnt get in as well. that has alwasy been my biggest fear with these super coolers. ill let you guys know how this thing works for me when/if i get it; )

just a personal preference here: i will *never* pay 80$ for a heatsink to cool my 50$ duron / or 75$ tbird 750. swiftech makes fine products from what i read, they really really need to work on their cost/price structure.

I will also *NEVER* pay 700$ for a video card.. wink wink 😛

13$ (group buy) shipped taisol 733 cooling my 1ghz duron, is what i got.

wered, i just like to have the best, the swiftech will be used on a tbird 1.2ghz chip, so the best FOR the best i dont think is inapropriate. as far as the peltier/waterblock from them, that will be something to play around with when i have the time, but there is no way im going to put something like that on a system that i actually care about breaking when the chaces of me screing something up are a thousand times higher. im sure you agree with me : )
