if you ride and have been wanting to get a premium helmet but have not been able to afford the 700+ price tag now is your chance to get one

Schuberth is discontinuing the “Lines” & “Solid” S2 version and making a new S2 “sport” version which is listing at 700 bucks. So all the motorcycle re-sellers are offering killer sales on the S2’s Lines and Solids 42% off on some sites. I had to go to a few websites before I found one that had it in blue and XL.

Big discount but I wouldn't call it a killer deal... more along the lines of bringing it down to its actual value instead of over-priced. A lot of Schuberths are quiet but this particular model had a lot of noise complaints.

I'm not knocking the deal but would argue that, even at this price, there are better options.

Sure, but the upside to Revzilla at least is they have prepaid 7.95 shipping labels for returning stuff if the size is off.

Most shops around me have little selection or are just Bilt stores (Cyclegear) so trying on a range of helmets for front to back fitment is pretty much out of luck.

Sometimes a slight variation in riding position will turn a quiet helmet to a loud one.
I've had a few lids that were fairly quiet while riding one bike then become a serious of whooshes and whistles on another. It can be the angle that your head is at riding one bike vs another (sportbike vs standard). It could be the design of the fairing. My helmets are louder riding my cbr vs my zx-11. Riding something like a Harley and its super quiet.

Wouldn't mind jumping in the Schuberth world but I already picked up a new Scorpion over the summer.

That's a lot of hassle if something doesn't fit right.

I'm actually in the market for a new helmet right now. My current Shoei RF1100 is 5 years old and I've ridden probably 30,000 miles with this lid. It needs a new shield, the paddling is well worn, the finish is showing its age, the shield mechanism is not nearly as tight as it should be and I think it's just time.

I have a Cycle Gear near here plus the Ducati dealer and a BMW dealer all within 1 mile of each other. BMW carries Schubert helmets so maybe I'll pop in there and see how they fit.
