MBs that are compatible with next generation of AMD/Intel Chips

Hi - I was wondering whether any boards out there now for AMD or Intel chips are compatible with the new chips being released later. Please let me know. Thanks.

Any motherboard that works now with current Athlon series processors will not work with any Hammer processor because the CPU socket is physically different.

As for Intel's Prescott processor, read this.

Given Intel's whitepapers, the Prescott will be supported with 875/865 boards that have the newer VRMs. In other words, manufacturers who did not skimp with cheaper VRMs will support Prescott.

I remembered there was something like that but I couldn't remember what it was, so I just pointed him to that thread because I figured it would be in there.
