MBP 5,1 no power after disassembly

The title might seem obvious, but I put it back together! 😛

At anyrate, my MBP was running VERY hot; I neglected to measure temps before taking it apart, but sitting with it on my lap and simply web surfing with it would cause it to get hot enough to burn my legs through my pants.

So, figuring myself fairly technically adept, I disassembled it and applied some Artic Silver 5 to the chips. I reassembled it and ensured all the cables where in the correct place, but unfortunately, I get nothing on pressing the power button. Thinking that I maybe didn't seat the motherboard correctly, I took it out and reseated it to no avail.

I've also checked my RAM, reset the SMC (Is that right? I come from a PC background, can't recall what this was called) and attempted to reset the PRAM, all without luck. The only thing that happens is I plug the machine in and get a quick white blink on the monitor, then nothing happens. The Magsafe shows power as green and when the battery is in, it shows it's charging.

So here I am, at a loss. I'm fairly certain I didn't fry the motherboard, but I have no idea where to go next. Everything is plugged in properly and things seem to be seated correctly. My next step is to simply remove it again and reassemble. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Took apart my MBC 5,1 to reapply thermal paste, did so, put it back together and now I get no response from the power button. Plugging it in causes the screen to blink (white) briefly and nothing else. Magsafe shows Green/Charging

Thanks for looking, but I got it!

After disassembling again, it looks like the keyboard ribbon wasn't all the way in (damn hard to get in there!), which the power button is routed through. Thus no power!
