MBM4 + P3v4x + C566 + Slotket...temps too hot?

Running MBM4, the temperature ratings (I have not installed any other temp. sensors, as this is a work computer) are reading:

Sensor 1: 25 degrees C
Sensor 2: 38 degrees C

The ambient room temperature is currently 78.3 degrees Farenheit (25.7 degrees C). The case is open, and is an Enlight 7237.

Sensor 2 appears to jump back and forth between 37 and 48, though I don't know why; every time it jumps to 48, it will jump right back to 38 (I have felt the CPU, and it does not seem to be hot at all).

Should I be concerned about these temperatures at all?

Rob,

I'm not sure if you got a response to this, but the P3V4X is a mobo that uses a more exact temperature reading. I too see the spikes that you are referring to, and just as quickly as it spikes up, it spikes back down.

I was assured that this is normal, because of the temperature readings on this mobo. So I guess I'm saying that you are normal, too.

cheers,

Older P3V4X BIOS' versions have some problems with the temperature readings (usually too high). You actual temperature is lower than it reads. Even 37-48 is not that hot. My old P3V4X sometimes gave me temps above 60 degrees C. Check out the intel website. On the page that gives you all the stepping info for different chips, it will also give you the thermal specs for each processor. You are well under the Intel specs (even if the 48 is true)
