MB with white PCB?

QueBert

Lifer
wanting to get a new MB, noticed Sapphire has one with a white PCB layout that looks really different, but it's AMD and I have a C2D right now. Does any other company make a MB with a white layout? will be in a watercooled/windowed case and want to make things stand out as much as I can.

Also is there any way besides the slot protectors you can buy to get PCI slots to glow under UV?

Not sure about the White Board, but for the PCI slots, why not get UV paint and paint them?

I had asked in another thread about UV paint, didn't get a definite answer but if it works I'm game for doing it. as for the white board it looks like Sapphire has a couple but they're AMD only. Guess I could drop my C2D and get one of those new quad AMD chip's coming out. White MB's look pretty sick, aside from that or black most look pretty much the same to me. Either ugly ass green or boring red.

I read your other thread about the setup you're planning, and the green coolant. I don't think there's a single modern Intel motherboard with a white PCB (white, after all, is the color normally used to label motherboards). What about using the DFI LanParty UT P35? All black PCB, with various shades of neon-green slots.

or you can go with DFI X38 board which is basically the same.

I just was looking at the new Lanparty remembered it was 3 bills when it came out, dropped a bunch since then. no E-SATA but black+green would be perfect good suggestion man 🙂

As an added bonus, I *think* (someone verify?) that DFI usually uses UV reactive slots. Should look pretty impressive along with the green water coolant. I think you mentioned using an XFX card, which would go great with it - white heatsink label with black and green font/logos.

It'd be cool to see this thing when it's completed .

ha, if I have a digital camera maybe I'll take pictures and document my journey on here for all to read. It will be pretty crappy overall though, I lack motivation, I'm sloppy and have little experience doing anything outside of sleeving a PSU some years ago. But I will give it a shot and see what I can do. With all the peripherals I have see, it seems black/green would be the most accessible color scheme. I got the case picked out and most of the components, now I just gotta save up my money and find time to do this. Never done a complete PC mod before so I'm guessing it will take me a solid month.

the XFX cards do look nice though, I guess I'd be pulling the heatsink/fan off to water cool it but the black PCB fits my concept.
