I am going to purchase the AMD Athlon 5200+ cpu to go with a computer my husband is going to build for my son. Can someone give me some advice on the motherboard to get to go with it? Hopefully a rebate is involved or it's onsale somewhere. I'd like to spend around $100 if possible. He is NOT into gaming, but is very much into multimedia...video, video editing, music, etc....thanks for any help i can get...

would there be one in the $100 price-range that has onboard video until we can get him a good video card?
Is this mb at newegg suitable for the cpu? it's around $100 with a rebate:BFG Tech BFGRANF590S Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

I know this one doesn't have onboard video, but it is in my price-range. Perhaps someone might even have one to sell me that would work really good with this cpu.

Any of these 3 boards would be a good choice, each having their advantages and disadvantages-

The Asus board is probably the best for multimedia, given the included hdtv/av/as module... while the Abit has s/pdif in and out... the dfi somewhere in between. Chck the feature sets carefully to get what's best for your purposes...

They'll fit micro atx and standard atx cases, with the dfi being slightly oversize for matx...

All 3 are quality brands, while the Nforce chipset is arguably the best of integrated video...
