I'm looking at upgrading my current s939 Mobo/CPU either now or in the next few weeks.
I've currently got 4 sticks of DDR2-800 Super Talent Memory.
8800gts video card.
I'm still deciding between the e8400/8500/Q6600 or one of the newer 45nm quads.
I'd like to overclock, but not anything crazy; just whatever works well on air with either my current Scythe Ninja or a newer cooler.
So what motherboards out there will
1) Overclock decent with 4x2GB ram
2) Support raid 0/1
3) Doesn't need SLI, though wouldn't hurt
4) Not too expensive
5) Good integrated sound
I like Value; so something decently priced for its performance.
I'd appreciate any replies.
Also
Anyone know of a good sight that gives an updated succinct 'roadmap' of the different motherboard/chipset variances? I try to keep up on it, but not always sure the difference between all the different numbering methods used by the various manufacturers.
And, anyone know if the Scythe Ninja SCNJ-1000 would be worth keeping or would a different heatsink work? I'd have to buy a new accessory kit for the new motherboard for the Ninja(If one's even available).
I use my computer for some gaming, a little photo editing, some coding, vmware, etc.
