MB/Proc to go w/ these parts

I want to just do a mb/ram/cpu upgrade from my current 300a to something in the 800+ amd range. I was waiting on the dual systems but since those are vapor for the most part until summer realistically, i decided to scale back and go with a 1 proc system. I'd be carrying over a g2mx card, mx300 sound card and a netgear nic. Mostly need suggestions as to what is a decent and stable mb nowadays. thanks

Hey Wandered,

How much does a Dual CPU configuration really increase performance? I always imagined that it would hardly be any at all, except for people who use very specific types of software, because most commercial software isn't
deisnged to be executed in parallel like that is it?

Anyways, as to recommendations, I have an Asus A7V / Crucial PC133 CL2 /T-Bird 1000 configuration and everything works very well. No compatability issues thus far and plenty fast for me. If you want to wait a month or so, they probably have a bunch of new AMD motherboards to pick from, including ones based on the new VIA KT-133A chipset, as well as DDR chipsets like AMD 760 and the ALI MAGiK 1.

Good Luck
