I have got a motherboard Gigabyte 7ZX-H,chipset KT 133A.I am wondering if I can put AthlonXP 1700+ on it.In the Gigabyte site they mention that the MB supports processors up to 1.2GHz and above.This is confusing,I think.What "above" means in this case?

According to the Gigabyte compatibility list, PCB ver 5.1 with BIOS F3 will get you all the way to XP 2100.
