Hello, I am newbie, My name is Zeke
I am building a new computer(basicly my first) and I am going with an Athlon 1.8Ghz or a 1.9Ghz, Is that Ok? Should I go ahead for an XP 2000?
First of all, are there any major problems with Athlons that are surpassed by the pentium?
But more importantly, What would be the right, or a good motherboard for an Athlon of said speeds?
I am going to be using this new computer for gaming and web-design. Also, are 4 memory slots really uncommon? or Is it perfectly possible to get a motherboard with 4 slots? And how many PCI Slots do I reall need? I will definitely need an AGP slot as well. *Summary* What is a good motherboard for an Athlon with an AGP slot and enough PCI and Ram Slots?

Note: I dont really want to trouble myself with overclocking, if at all possible.

yes the KR7a is an excellent board but if you are not overclocking, it might not be worth it. I think Shuttles board also comes with 4 dimm slots
