Whatever Subbie you drive is probly at least 3000lbs and if its turbo, doesn't get 20/28MPG 
I guess it was just the turbo + suspension bits + LSD bits upped the weight. Previously the hatch was 2808lbs, sedan 2685lbs. That's a lot of added weight...
		
 
		
	 
Yes.  My STI is about ~3200 lbs, however, all the weight is from the AWD system in place obviously.  Plus my car has the power/tq to move.  The mazdaspeed3 shouldn't weigh THAT much for being FWD plus even if there is no torque steering,  when you hit the twisties, you're going to get a lot of understeering = bad.
		
 
		
	 
I agree, and I love Subbies, but your STI won't get 20/28MPG unless you start driving in 6th gear everywhere you go 

 Cheap + fast + decent mileage FTW!
Besides this car wouldn't be for "twisties" for me, it would be for spirited driving within safe limits 

 I figure I'll get a cheap WRX for auto-xing later if I feel the need
