Mazdaspeed 6 MPS Pics!

So many unique styling cues.. that could easily pass for an entry level Maserati.

Is that a production model?

Why wouldn't they start with the 3.0L V6?

Beats me. Someone at another forum said it was going to be a 2.3L turbo. I really have no idea though

I just figure that building up the same engine that's in the Mazda3 GT is kinda pointless. Unless they plan to drop it straight into the 3 later on and make the new-model MazdaSpeed 6 a V6-based one.

Specs though.

Underneath the hood is a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine with a direct gasoline injection system. It makes 280 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 263 pound-feet of torque at 3,500 rpm. It's connected to a six-speed manual transmission. The regular 6 sedan and wagon are front-drive, but the MPS uses an all-wheel-drive system sourced from the AWD version of the 6 wagon sold in Europe.

To keep the MPS tied to the road, Mazda has fitted a sport-tuned suspension and added additional body reinforcements. The lightweight 18-inch wheels are shod with 245/40ZR 18 tires.
