avg over the lifetime, which is just over 45.7k miles, 05 3s.... 27.92mpg. I'm missing about half a dozen fill ups. And includes maybe a dozen or so autocrosses. On my trip to ocean city, I hit 35mpg.

Make sure you aren't using the brake a lot, coast to stop if possible. If you are using the brake, you are wasting energy, meaning you wasted gas accelerating for no reason. And also enable the computer and turn on current fuel economy. It will give you instant feedback on how you are driving.

I have the sport version, so i do not think it has the fuel economy computer.

It has it, you just have to activate it.
Trip computer for '06s and '07s:

1. Press and hold down CD and AM/FM buttons
2. Start your car while still pressing down on those buttons
3. The display will read, "DIS ON" which means Driver Information System On.
4. Release the CD and AM/FM buttons
5. Turn off and restart the car
6. Now press the Set button and cycle through your avg. mpg, miles until empty, current mpg, and avg mph!

Thanks for the tip 🙂 Just went and activated mine, and it said I was averaging 25.4mpg. Not bad, considering most of my driving is low-speed, stop-and-go type stuff.

Don't forget to reset the average (press and hold the Set button while average economy is displayed) at every tank. Then you can monitor your improvements. 400 mile tanks are possible.
And if you watch your current mpg, pretty soon, your driving habits will change. Just be careful not to crash into anything while looking at it. 😀

Thanks, for the tips. I tried on the gas mileage thing. On mostly highway, I get around 25-26 mpg. I have saw that it's the bumper to bumper traffic I have been stuck in lately. It's kind of weird, but my old Altima got worse gas mileage overall, but it got better gas mileage in bumper to bumper traffic (it got 19, while the 3 gets around 17). I guess I have to trade something to get something better....I still love the car. I can't wait to change the OEM tires. These tires have a huge amount of road noise.

I'll see what i get as time sgoes on ( have only done this for around 50 mi). Hopefully it gets better.

I am about to hit 600 miles (the end of the nreak in period)....you think it will improve?
